And the winner of the huggable yet deadly grim reaper is…
Lauren B.!
Must have been those extra entries she earned by sending in a photo of, in her own words, “me with my well loved copy of Croak looking like a psycho killer. I thought it was fitting, plus I haven’t had my third cup of coffee yet.”
Um, security?
Congrats to Lauren, and also to the little grim, who is clearly going to a creepy yet loving home.
ALSO: If you are in the Boston area this weekend, why not swing on by the ole Brookline Booksmith, say, at around 7:00pm on Saturday the 2nd? Because there you will find: me wearing a festive bow (maybe); a pile of other fabulous debut YA authors such as Elisa Ludwig (Pretty Crooked), Emily Danforth (The Miseducation of Cameron Post), AC Gaughen (Scarlet), EC Myers (Fair Coin), and Jessica Spotswood (Born Wicked); a crate of pens that we will use to sign your books; and a llama*!
*The llama is tentatively scheduled. He has yet to confirm.
ALSO ALSO: I will be at BEA next week! That’s BookExpo America, for those of you who thought I’d instead be hanging around the grave of Bea Arthur (which I may also make time for). I’ll be at the Apocalypsies meet and greet event at 3:00 on Tuesday, and signing from 3:00-4:00 on Wednesday. Put it in your little BEA app doohickey, or something. I’m still not quite sure how all this works. The Javits center is on the moon, right?
See you there, and thanks again to everyone who entered the giveaway!

I put you on my BEA calandar. See yo next week!

Super excited that I won Gina Damico’s homemade Reaper giveaway. I think it was the beautiful picture I sent her.
